Bio

I’ve spent more than 30 years working to protect animals of all kinds. That work has involved a wide variety of campaigns and projects, including initiatives to change laws, raise public awareness, litigate in the courts and even animal rescues and relocations.  I’ve met some amazing animals and the people who work to protect them throughout the world, from Canada’s north to tropical Asia. I’m a Chartered Biologist, avid outdoorsman, and caving enthusiast, and a founder of the wildlife protection organization Zoocheck Canada (please check out our website).  I hope my books encourage both kids and adults to get involved protecting animals.
