Bio

I’ve spent more than 35 years working to protect animals of all kinds. My work has involved a wide variety of campaigns and projects, including initiatives to change laws, raise public awareness, litigate in the courts and rescue animals. I’ve met some amazing animals and the people who work to protect them throughout the world, from Canada’s north to tropical Asia. I’m a Chartered Biologist, a founder of the wildlife protection organization Zoocheck (please check out our website) and a winner of the prestigious McGrand Award for substantial contributions to animal welfare in Canada.

When I’m not trying to help animals, I like to see the world, get out into nature and have at least a little bit of adventure from time to time. And, of course, I love reading.
